For the sake of transparency, especially to the people who play in my Boucle Unicorns group, I have been struggling these past 3-4 years with bad mental health and low motivation to get things done even when deadlines were coming very close. In 2021 I had to essentially restart my life. Boucles became a comfort then as I needed something to do and occupy my mind with, but as I started working on getting my education I had to put Boucles to the side. I wanted to be able to do both things at once, but my mind was sadly not stable enough and I chose to focus on getting my education done instead, promising myself to work on Boucles during the summer.

That summer I slept through 3 months, and was ultimately diagnosed with diabetes type 2 due to my PCOS. I'm on meds now and my bloodsugar-levels are stable, but it took about half a year to get my body to a state where I wouldn't have spikes and my stomach wasn't constantly breaking down from the meds. During this time I had to lean heavily on my co-founders, both of which had problems and struggles of their own but they did the best they could and I'm ever thankful for them <3

During the time I was in school and couldn't focus on Boucles, the only thing I was called on for was drama-resolution. When that's the only thing you're doing in a group that tends to sour the view of said group. I wasn't doing anything creative, I was just trying to help with drama where I could and to try and solve conflicts that popped up. I turned to other groups for respite, and I get why that makes it look like I didn't care about boucles anymore, but boucles is a part of me - quite literally I put my heart and soul into that group as a 19-year old and I view it as an extension of me (Not super healthy, and it's something I'm working on fixing, but it's the reality).

I told myself that this summer I would do all those things that weren't done because of my sickness last summer, that this summer I would be able to enjoy the group as a creative project again. Sadly, just before summer something happened that completely broke me. I couldn't leave my bed for the first time in my life, and I started associating the notif-icon in the boucle discord chat with dread and anxiety. It saddens me that I had all these plans and then I let something just completely pummel me to the ground, but I had to face the fact that I was deeply depressed and that I needed to take care of myself.

I felt it was fair to you guys to explain why I said I'd do all these things and then basically vanished. I am so grateful for your support and I'm happy that so many people love my group and I wish I could be a better founder to you guys.

For now I need to take care of myself, I will get the sales stuff sorted this weekend as promised, and I will slowly work on my boucle group goals when I feel like I'm in a healthier state to do so.

It’s soon summer time and uni is coming to a close for the holidays, so I’m running a fundraiser in order to pay my bills and feed myself while I work on boucle things for y’all! <3

I had big plans to work last summer, all of which fell through, outlined in this journal, but I am feeling much better now and I’m excited to work on and improve the group <3

My main plan will be:

1. Design guide with clear examples and rules for all Boucle genes

2. Cosmetic refreshes, making sure the site and DA group look clean and fancy

3. System reworks, for example rethinking how foals are processed

4. Activities! I hope to launch a roleplay event during summer :D

Last summer I intended to work on boucle-stuff during the 3 month study break, however I got very sick and slept through most of 3 months, eventually getting diagnosed with diabetes type 2.
